Took several tries to download my data from the swimsense site. Each time it would get further(by date) before eventually timing out. After it finally got through my year of swim data uploading, it remarkably noticed swims that I had entered manually and attempted to update them. Nice to be able easily bring this data into SportTracks since the Swimsense website leaves much do be desired in the way of analyzing your swims over time. Keep up the good work!

Swimsense Import

This plugin adds device import support for the Swimsense watch. Data is imported from the online training log software at: http://swimsense.finisinc.com/ . You will need to enter your login information once during configuration, then import as you would a regular device.

Imported data includes:

  • Total time and distance
  • Interval time, distance, rest/active marker, stroke type
  • Detail stroke count data track per pool length
  • Detail speed data track per pool length

Notes on the data import

Each watch interval is imported as a Recorded Lap. Stroke type (Freestyle, Backstroke, etc) is imported into the lap notes field. To view interval details, go to the Splits page in the activity details view.

Each pool length provides data to build a detailed data track for speed/time/distance, and stroke count. Stroke counts are imported into the standard cadence data. To view stroke info, go to the Cadence page in the activity details view.

For stroke types of Freestyle or Backstroke, the imported stroke count is doubled - the number reported in Cadence therefore represents a single arm stroke.

To view stroke count summaries in other areas of the software such as the activity list, activity reports or lap details, refer to the Cadence fields. Because workout average calculations will consider both rest and active intervals, you may want to show the Active Laps fields (pace, cadence, time, distance) instead.

Normal cadence track smoothing and cutoff applies. You may want to set the smoothing to 0 and the cutoff to 1 by going to the Settings > Display > Analysis page.
