Regretfully, omb has also decided to remove online documentation for his plugins.

Yes, I removed the online manuals 3 weeks ago. The webserver log files showed that they have hardly been used by anybody in the past months. No wonder that it took 3 weeks for someone to post this in the forum.
The major reason why I dropped this is the European "General Data Protection Regulation" which became effective on May 25.
It implies a major risk of being haunted by dubious lawyers with costly antitrust warnings for tiniest breaches of the regulation.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of data protection. However the regulation should have been designed in a way to prevent arbitrary crooks from abusing it to make money from others.
Bottom line: no web site = no expensive trouble of this kind.
Btw, even really big players like the LA Times and the Chicago Tribune ditched their web sites - at least for users from Europe.

Sorry,
OMB

The plugins could be released as shareware without support but open source (if possible).
Maybe not much income but more than none.
Sad to let the great omb plugins not come to the use they deserve.

Ooops, today I just wanted to get a clear and detailed definition of "calculate custom data tracks" function of After Import, but faced the lack of the manual.

May I get a precise definition from someone, please?

Let me put it in another way.Is there anybody around who had downloaded the online manuals of Mr OMB including Custom Data Tracks before their removal, which is quite understandable due to GDPR?

Hello OMB,

I have been using your plugins and have a license for them for years.
Today however, for some reason upon starting SportTracks the "Garmin FIT Devices" plugin appears to have just disappeared for me... I think that happened before once or twice when I ignored the probe to update for to long... I think I've now been ignoring it since an upade in May or so... But then it always worked after reinstalling the plugin...

However, when trying to download and reinstall the plugin I found that hosting is down:
https://www.zonefivesoftware.com/sportt ... a=download
redirects to http://www.sporttracks-plugins.com/Spor ... .st3plugin which redirects to http://h2154733.stratoserver.net/SportT ... .st3plugin, which doesn't find the file.

Is there a place where it can be downloaded?
If not OMB, does any user on this forum has perchance the installation file for Garmin FIT Devices plugin?

Oops, this was a glitch on my server, all plugin downloads were gone.
Could you please retry - it should be working well again.

Hey omb, It appears that the download still fails for all your plugins (works correctly for non-omb plugins). Seems to attempt to execute the .st3plugin rather than doing file download.

That's how it always worked for me - and how it's designed. If an app is associated with an extension, Windows starts the app with the downloaded file.
And that's exactly what ST does. It associates itself for the logbook file and plugin file extensions.
So when a logbook file is double clicked (or opened), ST starts; and when a plugin is downloaded ST installs it.

Cheers,
OMB

I know all that. This is a file download failure from browser outside of ST3. Works correctly for any other non-omb plugin so not a browser failure rather likely a server failure.

Hi Tex,
sorry, I think I didn't understand your previous post.
Could you please explain. What do you want to do (and where), what would you expect to happen and what happens.

Thanks,
OMB

Just testing if your server is working. So in Chrome (and tested also with PaleMoon) I go to the catalog and selected Fit Devices which has this link: http://zonefivesoftware.com/sporttracks ... it-devices
**** SOME PROBLEM with BB Code not allowing attachments anymore *****
But instead of download I get:
fitdev1.jpg

fitdev2.jpg

Chrome gets this in the address bar:
http://h2809815.stratoserver.net/SportTracksPlugins/DownloadArea/Garmin%20FIT%20Devices%20Plugin_Setup.st3plugin

And this gets splashed on my screen:
Code: Select all

Yep, I can reproduce this with Chrome. This doesn't happen with Firefox or IE, though.
I don't know why Chrome behaves like this.
I compared the HTTP response headers for my plugins with those of other plugins and couldn't find a difference that looks like a candidate for trouble.
Anyway, download is working. This is more than the current situation of Calculated Fields, another great plugin with a download and plugin information page which seem to be broken.
