If I remember right, I said "a few days".
Not longer than maybe 100 or 200 days

So I want to help you waiting with an aphorism by Linda Clarkson:
"Patience is bitter, but it's fruit is sweet."

May the patience be with you,

Looks fantastic, OMB!!

I was always hoping that the Kristian Bisgaard Lassen's overlay plugin could be linked to your weather plugin, in order to analyze the impact of head wind/temperature.

Now you did it with your dotracing plugin!! Many thanks for that, can't wait to play around with it.

Is it possible to analyze only certain parts of a track, i.e. compare only lap 1 and 2 of activity 1 with activity 2 (same track and same laps)?

Kind regards and many thanks!

philipshambrook, you've convinced me

I could not take the burden on me of being responsible for a homicide.
Please tell me how long it will take you to get divorced, and I'll postpone this plugin until then

PS: I'm glad that I am still alive. My wife's patience has been stretched quite a lot.
As a first remedy, your donations have allowed me to take her out to a nice dinner. No candles, but otherwise not bad :)

Well, I have to be careful with my weight now, so I left away the chips  .

New Release of MapOverlay plugin with Dot Racing included

Postby old_man_biking » Wed Jul 02, 2008 2:37 pm

Hi folks,

I've just released a new version 0.2.3105 of the MapOverlay plugin. This version contains Dot Racing!
I've decided not to publish Dot Racing as a plugin of it's own but to bundle it into MapOverlay for now.

Have a look - it's worth it :D

See http://www.sporttracks-plugins.de/Sport ... MapOverlay
and http://www.sporttracks-plugins.de/Sport ... /DotRacing for details.

Enjoy,
OMB

PS: Thanks to all beta testers.

OMB

This is absolutely brilliant. Thank you. Well worth the wait. Keep up the good work. What have you got coming next? You'll really have to go some to beat this. :D

I'm that impressed, I've even donated some more to you - and that's something because I've got short arms and deep pockets!

Well done OMB, it's looking really good :)

First observation though, mine appears to be square racing, not dot racing (even though sporttracks is setup as dots, not squares for markers).

Regards

Hi OMB,

I've a question about the donation. I'm running ST
on 2 PC. One at home and one at work. I've read others
even run it on a third (laptop). I would like to know when I donate (should be very soon) if it's possible to use the donation for both PC or it's necessary to donate for each.

I like your plugins pretty much but this causes me
to spent more time with ST (thx God,Aaron,OMB, all developers and the hole ST comunity).
That's why I'm pushed to run ST also @ work.

Thanks anyhow for your amazing plugins

Hi Stumpjumper68,

I will send out a second validation key for your second machine without asking.
If you need a 3rd one - send me a PM and we'll see.
I just don't want that someone lets all his friends validate with his/her donation details.

Cheers,

I donated and got the program installed.

When I hit play, the clock starts running but I don't see any dots. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure that you have the racers showing.

This is toggled with the show racers/hide racers selection found in the playback toolbar header.

Excellent stuff! This is a killer plugin! :D

It almost seems rude to mention these  , but there were a couple of problems:

When I installed the plugin, I let it open its web page, which took me to a "Page Not Found" on OMB's site - http://www.sporttracks-plugins.de/Sport ... y%20Plugin

Also, where I allow the installer to start SportTracks for me, it does so with a new Logbook, rather than opening my existing (last used) logbook.

When clicking Add Activity, if you hover over an activity close to the bottom of the screen, the descriptive tooltip does not appear (I presume it is trying to render the tooltip off the bottom of the display).

The plugin is causing me to spend far too long in front of my PC with a silly grin on my face!

Yup - I go out ride a regular route then load it up - just to see if the green dot beats the red dot!

If I win, I've made my day - If I lose - I still win

Now I get asked: "Why do you sit there and watch coloured dots race around a track?"

"You don't understand.....I'm training...."

Realy cool stuff!!
It´s exciting to compare a running session of a friend with my own for a same training track.
It´s like a ghost in a F1 simulation and this has a great fun and motivation factor.8)
Incredible, if it would be possible to find similar routes with Unique Route Plugin and turn over the result to DotRacing Plugin.

BTW:
And also a great marketing strategy!
Now i have to donate another 10 bugs for the beers on top to get out the maximum of this great plugin!
OMB, i´m totally satisfied with all your work (including marketing)!

Heiko

Many thanks for this fair offer. I've donated right now and mentioned in the username field that I'd like to have 2 keys.
Can't wait for it to get it running.

Heiko,

it's a very good idea to use Unique Routes intellligence for selecting activities in Dot Racing.
I've heard similar suggestions before.

I'll talk to Kristian and hopefully he can provide interfaces to his plugin so that I could use them.
I provide open interfaces in MapOverlay and DotRacing that other plugin authors can frankly use.
So hopefully Kristian will take a similar approach.

Cheers,
OMB
