Suddenly high TSS and power values

Suddenly high TSS and power values

Postby Rika66 » Tue Jun 24, 2014 1:33 am

Hi.

Suddenly am I getting calculated power values that are 3 times higher, and TSS values that are 10 times higher (>2000) for a normal run.
This started in beginning of May.

Before could a get a calculated power value of 324 and a TSS value of 132 for a run activity.
Now is the power value 874 and TSS 2165 for a similiar run.
TRIMP values are still normal.

My weight seems to be correct, and nothing strange with elevation for run activities.

What has happened here?
Have a messed something up?
What parameters is the PowerRunner plugin using?

I am having this problem too for some activities. It seems that the cause of this is that the power for running calculated by the PowerRunner plugin is sometimes incorrect. As far as I can tell, for those activities where it goes wrong, the average power is always 1800-1900 and is 10 times higher than it should be (rather than 3 times, as Rika66 experiences).

Anyone?

The Power Runner plugin has no settings for the calculation.
Suddenly I get power values that are 3 times higher?
What has changed?

See example below.
I have re-imported an old run activity, and the power and TSS are calculated much higher.

Check the weight of your used equipement. If you entered a comma instead of a dot or changed from grams into kilograms it can increase your power values.

Thanks, that was the problem.

The weight of my shoes was in kilograms!

Same problem here, I'd accidentally entered the weight of my shoes as 560 kg. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm getting a similar problem. My cycling TSS factors seem to be out by a factor of 60.
I've checked my body weight, equipment weight, all are sensible. What else does ST use in the TSS calculation?

My power values are fine, and I'm quite certain the power data is valid. Bikescores on Golden Cheetah are fine.

Any help much appreciated.
