Garmin Swim & Ver. 3.0.5004

Garmin Swim & Ver. 3.0.5004

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but after performing a "test swim" in my living room, it looks like the PS plugin is not working properly with the Garmin Swim. This "test swim" was a 4x25yd with 30 sec rest between intervals.

Looking at the image:
1. The pause times do not display in the chart above.
2. The intervals/lengths are not displaying properly in the chart above.
3. In the table below, the pauses between lengths are listed as zero seconds, rather than the actual 30 seconds.

It looks like the pause times are picked up correctly with Garmin Fit Devices.

I could be wrong, but after reading some older posts on the use of auto-pause and manual pause, I believe the intention is that we are now not to use the pause button on the Garmin Swim while using this plug-in, but rather rely on the auto-pause. I haven't used the Garmin like this before.

I've always used the pause button, as this is the method described in the manual and from the Garmin guy on the Garmin forums.

@EricN: Sorry, but your attached file is not an activity .FIT file, but an activity summary file.
Could you please attach the correct file - it should have a name ending on ".....-ANTFS-4-0.FIT"

I have tried to log my swims this way with the Garmin Swim. I also have gone through the Garmin Swim manual again, and seen no references to auto pause in it. It always asks you to press the pause button in order to create rests, and also to define intervals.

MAybe autopause works with the 910, but not with the Swim watch.

That would explain why I was getting an error while trying to import some older activities with the new GFD plug-in.

Thanks for your test data.
Sigh, that's another issue with the dreadful ambiguity of timer pauses and rest lengths in Garmin's swim devices.
Think, I've found a way to overcome this. Will provide a new version of Garmin FIT Devices plugin soon that should fix this.
