Ok, here you are: I attach the .fit file
You've got here two screen shots, one from your plugin displaying the PACE correctly 1:45.3min/100m and one from the activity report summary displaying as the average PACE: 1:58min/100m incorrect.
If you want to look at how it is showed in GC, here you are:

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/402950724

I have also noticed that in the activity report summary has been added to the notes automatically this message: "removed 8 timer pause(s) taking 00:05:27", maybe this is the clue to the problem as this is the difference between time and moving (swimming) time.

Yes, that's a consequence of the Garmin FIT Devices plugin having removed timer pauses.
I'll try to fix that for the next plugin version.

OMB

Thanks OMB, I'm glad you already have the issue identified.

oops, no wonder this flew under my radar while testing the plugins, I hardly look at those summary figures...
Looking at my trainings now, I see the same issue.affecting not only the pace field in Activity summary screen. The value for "stopped" field is not shown (or shown to be 0, as in Jorge's screen grab above)

Should be dead easy to fix, however , so correct values are shown in both "stopped" and "pace" 8) But not in this plugin, right?

Unfortunately it's not so easy to fix.
Those dreadful timer pauses heavily interfere with some other concepts of ST and the PS plugin. So I have to remove them.
Otherwise some durations shown in PS plugin would be wrong and editing of pool swimming sessions in the PS plugin would be very problematic.

The only solution that provides the real moving time on page "Summary" without adverse side effects is: the GFD plugin enters the moving time (without the removed pause durations) into the "Manually entered" time of the activity and set the activity to use these numbers (i.e. the "Pencil" symbol).

OMB

I do not care much about the summary but the thing is that it's also wrongly displayed on the new mobile version st.mobi, and that's a pity. I think that if from the software standpoint is so problematic, I prefer the former version data, just hiding the rest time info. What do you think about it?

Sorry for may bad English... I mean that, it would be better, regarding the changes on how the rest periods are imported, to come back to the previous version, before the last update: because, I do care more about having my average pace displayed right on both ST and ST.mobi (for data analysis) than displaying all the rest periods correctly ( I can always hide them on your pool swimming plugin so, they're not a big problem ) . But that's just my humble opinion.

Ah, I see.
Unfortunately reverting to the previous policy isn't a real option. So I'll solve the issue like I sketched in my previous post.

Hi, OMB, though I've paid for your plugin I'm still using the past version because of the aforementioned problem with the pace and rest times. Are you planning to release the new version with that solved soon??. Thanks in advance!.

The change as of this post: viewtopic.php?f=110&t=12026&start=250#p81328 doesn't affect Pool Swimming plugin but Garmin FIT Devices plugin.
And the new GFD version with this change has already been released on Decemter 16.
See change #18 in the change history @ http://sporttracks-plugins.com/SportTra ... story.html .

I'm not sure this is exactly the same problems others have had with pauses. I'm getting random pauses within my intervals.

See the attached images. The first image shows a pause inserted an the end of an interval and the time was added to that interval -- the pause is about the same as the pause *after* the interval. The second image shows a pause inserted in the middle of an interval.

If this is the problem others have, I'm sure it's being fixed so no big deal. But in the meantime, is there a way to remove the extra pauses?

10 errant pauses were added to today's workout.

Would you please zip the .FIT file and attach it to your post; or upload to a public file share site and send me a PM with the link.

Here's the .fitlog exported from SportTracks and the TCX file Garmin ANT Agent copied to my computer. I don't normally use Garmin ANT Agent, I just used it to get the TCX file.

Neither file helps, because neither one contains pool swimming data.
Please send the imported .FIT file. You find it e.g. in the "Activities" subfolder of the Garmin ANT Agent sync folder.

I was wondering where that was. Here you go.

When I import your .FIT file with Garmin FIT Devices plugin and view it in Pool Swimming plugin, I can see 20 pauses interspersed between your interval.
When I upload the very same file to Garmin Connect, I see the same pattern.

So I'm not sure if I understand what you want to point me to - I see 20 pauses instead of 10, and the pauses are there in GC as well.

See my first picture upload above. After the 52nd length, there are two pauses. The first one (41.9 seconds) is included in the time of the interval and the next one (41.8 seconds) is not included in the time of the interval. The plugin gives a time for the interval of 3:16, which is not correct – GarminConnect gives a time of 2:34, which is correct. I only hit pause once at the end of that interval.

I count 24 pauses on SportTracks and 19 on GarminConnect.

This happens all of the time for me. Sometimes the extra pause is at the end of the interval and sometimes it’s in the middle of the interval – see the 1.3 second pause between lengths 112 and 113.

So the remark regarding 10 errant pauses had nothing to do with the .FIT file you sent, right?
I cannot reproduce your problem, when I import your .FIT file with my current version of the Garmin FIT Devices plugin.
I've meanwhile changed/fixed one issue, which could as well resolve your problem.
Could you please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a beta version of the GFD plugin, so that you can see if that helps.

Cheers,
OMB

Correct. I considered the pauses I described above as "errant." There were a couple more in that swim, then there were about 10 in a more recent swim. The 10 referred to the more recent swim.

Sending you the PM now. Thanks.

I have the same problem as fzfrank describes. Legths disapears and seems to be weird pauses instead. Does old_man_biking need some more .fit files? The problem seems to be introduced with the latest upgrade. I use the garmin 910xt in the same way as always.

I've got just enough .FIT files to test - and the bug is already fixed.
New plugin version will be released within the next few days, I had just waited for the new ST version to be released, because that affected the plugin as well.

OMB

I installed version 3.0.5165 of the plugin on SportTracks 3.1.5151 and imported a bunch of FIT files from the Garmin/Devices/../Activities folder.
Now it seems that that the first length of every swim is interpreted as pause and the remaining swim therefore is one length off, meaning that the actual pause is interpreted as length. When looking at the Splits view, they are displayed correctly.
Here are two screenshots and the corresponding FIT file. I might be that I'm missing something but I don't know what that could be. :)
Thank you!
