I frequently publish a chart showing multiple activities which would benefit from descriptions.
One example is an ST database I have of climbs where the all the climbs have had their elevations "normalized" to start at zero. Then I use the Overlay plugin chart to compare the elevations, but I need to name the climbs.
Example from my Climbs database of two normalized climbs being compared. Note that Overlay plugin often fails on elevation with a vertical line segment at the end as you can see for the red trace.

What about a tooltip that contains name and part of Notes?
I am doing a little on Overlay. I believe MapOverlay/DotRacing to be the premier Overlay plugin. There are some features I would like to get in though, like integrating the CommonStretches in latest UniqueRoutes beta as a graph. Overlay requires substantial work to get "ST fied" in menues adding charts etc (all this requires substantial implementation). One option is to use FilteredStatistics as base. Hopefully integrated, but even a fork would improve the functionality to compare activities.
After installing Apply Routes Plugin Sporttracks uses 100% cpu! Then I deactivated the Apply Routes plugin and systemwide cpu load went back to 11%.
My system is Windows XP SP3 and I'm running the latest Sporttracks Release 2.1.3478 with the following Plugins:
Elevation Correction Plugin
Globalsat Plugin
Openstreetmap Plugin
ST Garmin Device Plugin
ST Garmin GPS Plugin
ST Globalsat Device Plugin
ST MapProvider for Terraserver
ST World Weather Provider
Does Anyone has the same problem? I would love to use Apply Routes, is there any workaround??
Hello Dobrou,
thanks for this great plugin. I've been using it for several months to publish my runs and they look much better than with any other software I have tried.
Here are a few bugs/enhancements reports :
- The "extended view/export options" pop-up has a fixed width, hiding the "Load 2" to "Save 3" buttons. As I use these buttons, I need to resize the pop-up everytime. Make it either wide enough so that all controls are visible, or remember the last width.
- When saving a preset, the "Filename" field is not saved anymore. This used to work in previous versions and I used it.
- I would like to be able to change the label of the lap/split placemarks, Currently, it displays the time and the lap length. As such, it is not very useful, because it just shows "1 km" next to each placemark. Basically, I would prefer to have either the total distance (1 km, 2 km etc) or the lap number (Lap 1, Lap 2, etc.), configurable, i...
Overlay activities are currently specified by activity date and time. However if several activities with the same time are compared (e.g. a multi-person race), it is hard to distinguish which graph line is which.
Be nice to allow an option to specify additional identification such as the Name and/or Location fields from the activity. Or a Summary Notes keyword field such as: Overlay="Racer 1" which would put Racer 1 as the activity identifier.
You can put planned workouts in the Training Planner calendar but they won't show up in the main ST calendar.
Using TrainingLoad you can specify TRIMP=xxx on future dates but that can cause issues with the Training Planner as it expects to see non-empty activites.
Using Garmin Fitness you can create future workouts that do show up in the ST calendar but they will crash the Training Planner which in turn crashes ST.
Someday all the pieces might work in harmony... until then, you'll have to decide which piece of which software is most important to you.
Hello folks! Long time no see but rest rassured, I've been working on the plugin nonetheless. Actually I'm abotu to release a new version. I'm in the late testing phase so expect it to be sometimes this week.
So, what's new in this version, I hear you ask? Here is the new features list :
- Added some new stats columns (ascent elevation/distance/avg grade, descent elevation/distance/avg. grade)
- Added post process filters (allows a treatment of the results like merging near sections, removing short sections, etc.)
- Added a button to manually merge sections, delete sections and invert filter results
- Added chart selection
- Added map selection (there are some minor ST limitations though)
- Added a "valid sections" color in the charts to ease unselected results visibility
- Added templates editing in settings page
- Save of last used filter in Daily Activity view
- Integration with OMB's map overlay for map highlight
But most of all :
- Added publicly av...
Thanks again guys. I figured out what I had done wrong when I tried to set up GPS2PowerTrack for running. (Of course it was a stupid mistake) When I renamed the "CustomConfig.Default" file to "CustomConfig.xml" I literally changed it to "CustomConfig.xml". In other words, I erased the word "Default" and replaced it with "XML". Like I said, stupid mistake. This made the actual name of the file "CustomConfig.xml.xml" and the plugin, of course, didn't recognize it. When it dawned on me what I had done (after staring at it, re-reading the instructions, staring at it some more, re-reading the instructions again, etc) I erased the extra "xml" and the plugin worked perfectly. Doh.
And .... holy moly! Now I'm in information overload. This plugin sure provides a ton of data. Looks like I'll have some fun trying to figure out how to use it.
Still can't figure out how to put future "planned" runs into the Traini...
