Pool Swimming plugin

I've imported your attached .FIT file with Garmin FIT Devices plugin and it looks perfect.
Seems that this is a glitch in ST's standard importer for .FIT files.

Well you could try to use GFD plugin for import as a workaround:

Thanks for the suggestion. I would have, if I had known that before I spent money on other plugins I didn't really want. :)
With the limited payment options, I'd have to invest another 20 EUR for a 5 EUR worth just to get over the no-PayPal hump.
I'll just write it off under lessons learned. ;)
------------------------------

PS: OMB kindly helped me out there. The GFD plugin corrects the situation and the result of the import displays as expected.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Pool Swimming plugin

Postby m.loepprich » Sat Mar 22, 2014 2:16 am

Hi,

I’m new in using the pool plugin since ST has introduces their swim analyses on ST.mobi.

However, right now it isn’t of much use for me, because after importing the data (from my Ambit2) half of the data is wrong, and (as far as I know) the pool plugin seems to be the only one with which I can correct my data.

During swimming I hit the lap after each interval, which also includes pause. So interval, pause, interval, pause means for me lap, lap, lap, lap.
Afterwards I can reconstruct (if the data is wrong, what it always is) how long the interval sections should have been and thereby I’ve got the duration of the interval.

But some entries in the data I have to change but I can’t. Mostly some laps have a time of 0:00 (or another value) and I like to fix this to the duration I measured.

Here is one example (of many) and some comments what the time should be. The lap time I've got from movesount and copied to Excel.

Do you have any recommendations how I can fix this?

Thanks
Martin

Obviously the import of this swimming activity is quite incorrect, so this is what should be fixed (the importer into .mobi).
PS plugin was designed to let the user edit those aspects of a swim, which could reasonably be misinterpreted by a device (swim style, rest/not rest, added turn where there was non, missed a turn ...).
No reasonable device - in conjunction with a flawless import - should get durations of lengths completely wrong.

and does this mean also, that there is no tool to fix incorrect swim data manually at the moment?

This shows a more simple workout.

First there is a difference in my simple workout between my manually stopped laps, which would be great to correct the information in the pool plugin.

But there are also some strange things between the ST3 pool plugin and ST.mobi.
Where the pool plugin shows 0:00 pause, ST.mobi is right with 0:35.

The workout was synced.

Any idea?

Hello
I just installed the plugin on Sport Tracks 3.1.5202. There is no new acivity details item that appears such as the one showed in your plugin presentation page. Interestingly the plugin appears in your plugin for global settings (both as a display and edit function). I added a screenshot.

Should I buy the license before running it?

Number of strokes doubled for open water swimming

Postby Oliver Hecker » Wed Jun 18, 2014 3:36 pm

I am using the Pool Swimming Pugin (3.0.5165) and the FIT Devices Plugin (3.0.5257; "ANT wireless") to import data from a Garmin 910xt (Softwareversion 3.00).

When I am importing open water swimming data the number of strokes is doubled as compared to what is displayed in the activity protocol on the 910xt (So if the Display of the 910xt shows 50 strokes for a session - which is correct - then the plugin indicates 100 strokes.) For pool swimming everything seems to be OK, both values (display in watch and ST plugin) are identical. Any ideas if this is due some wrong setting or a bug?

Could you please zip and attach the .FIT file of this swim to your post so that I can have a look.
The plugin should save a backup copy of the .FIT file in folder
C:\ProgramData\ZoneFiveSoftware\SportTracks\3\Plugins\Data\Garmin FIT Devices Plugin\Imported
The file time stamp should be that of your import time.

Pretty clear - the GPS track of this swim is OUTSIDE of the water, so the clever plugin thinks you're running and counts steps
Seriously: you've found a bug. In fact, the Garmin FIT Devices plugin doubles stroke counts for open water swims  . Fixed for the next version.

Thanks for pointing me at this issue,

Hello I am trying to post my request again. I did a first post on June 10.

I installed the plugin and I can see it in the listed plugins, but there is no detailed activity page that becomes available when I browse pool data. Any idea what I should do?

Thanks

There are a few similar posts with the same question + answers.
The "Pool swimming" detail page only appears in the list of detail pages, when you have selected an activity that in fact has pool swimming data.
I.e. it must be a pool swimming activity that has been imported properly:
- as a .FIT file with ST's standard .FIT file importer
- using Garmin FIT devices plugin
- using Garmin Connect plugin
- using Swimsense import plugin
TCX files or other file types do NOT contain pool swimming data.

If you can't find a solution, zip your original imported file and add it to your post.

There are several similar posts (and answers) in the forum. You could try and search.
The basic answer is: the "Pool swimming" entry in the activity detail pages menue only appears, when you have selected an activity that has pool swimming information.
So 1. you must in fact have recorded a pool swimming session and 2. you must have properly imported it (either per file import of .FIT files or with Garmin FIT Devices plugin) - not TCX files!

Simply try and reinstall. There seems to be a glitch in ST's plugin installer.

Mistake in "Pool Swimming plugin" translation

Postby rlecoat » Sun Oct 19, 2014 4:33 am

Hi

Since the last update (version 3.0.53) of the plug-in, "drills" has been translated in "Perceuse" :) Perceuse is used in home work activity but not in a pool :) I suggest you translate "drills" in "Educatifs" or "Exercices" wich are the real french words for that. If you let us personalize the name field, it could be nice too.
Tx for the plug-in, i'm hapy to use it every week.

Oops, I just see that "perceuse" is a tool for drilling
I'll fire my French translator
Ooooops, just see that I've translated myself.

Thanks a lot for helping to improve the translation.

Re: Pool Swimming plugin

Postby Timo Niß » Mon Nov 24, 2014 5:01 am

Hallo,
Mache ich was falsch? Oder funktioniert das Plugin nicht mit der Testversion von Sporttracks? Oder müssen die Daten über eine entsprechende Uhr eingefügt werden und nur dann wird kann das Plugin verwendet werden.

Vielen Dank für die Hilfe
Timo
