Activity MonthView?

Activity MonthView?

Postby jwhitridge » Mon Nov 29, 2010 11:51 am

Are there any planned or existing plugins that provide a calendar/month view of activities? Something where the week would start on Monday and end on Sunday (hopefully configurable). Thx, John

If it is a "month" view - would the view not start on whatever date the 1st of the month was?

The view I'm thinking of (but having a hard time describing) would be something like this:
* Columns are the days of the week - usually Monday to Sunday for "racers" - but perhaps configurable by the user
* Rows are different weeks - first row is the first week of the month, second row second week, etc.
* Entries in a cell would be similar to the YearView - color coded activities - but there would be room now (since it's just a month) for text in the entry - such as mileage and time
This is really a graphical view of the activities view in SportTracks, but it is a fairly common view in applications like this, e.g. Connect.Garmin.com, TrainingPeaks.com, RunningAHEAD.com, etc.
Some sites allow users to put in "events" such as upcoming races with links to the websites, or other user annotations.

The main advantage to this view is that I can look at Monday and just look up a row or two to see how/what I did the prior Mondays. With YearView (which is useful and I like it) weeks are broken on different rows at the beginning and end of every month.

Hope that description helps...John

some kind is actually is possible in Reports View

using filters by date, first the range you want to see (1 year per example)

then you add another filter by day of the week

and you can save it :D

I would rly love an Month/Week view update of your grate plugin.

Maybe The Monthview with the same calendaricview as the yearview but with some information indside and the weekview with the same chartciew as the montcharts only for weeks.

Mabye something similar to the Polar ProTrainer View (if you know that).

Great Plugin :D

This would be a really nice feature. One of the only things I see in TP or GC that I find miss in ST is the month view as described below.

As means of an update, a new month/week view will be available in the future. Not sure if this will be part of the YearView plugin or a plugin all of its own.

Very early image of the plugin :

I think it would be tremendous to merge this with year view and rename it something like "Workout Calendar", or something.

I fully agree - there are more than enough plugins, no need to create even more (chaos  ) . An merge is just perfect!

Thanks!

This is indeed good news, but please very important is to have meaningfull totals as well, at the end of every week, specially for time and distance.
We all know that training should be cyclical, with one week of rest for every 3 weeks of hard training, and that's where you need to see the weekly totals at a glance to make sure your taining pattern is correct.
Keep up the good work!!

Just an update...

Development is progressing though slowly as time is limited.

The monthly view now looks looks like the following...

For the "chart view"
