Question:
How do I edit data tracks?
Answer:
Editing data tracks
6) Go to daily activity view, select a day/activity in the calendar or in the list on top with MLC.
7) In the daily activity menu, select "Edit activity" and then "Data Track" with MLC.
8 ) A window "Edit Data Tracks" will open. Now select which data track you want to edit with MLC, for example Heartrate.
9) Your data track to be edited will be displayed. The graph is always displayed over time and will always include also the "stopped" time and "watch pauses"
"covered" by settings (A) AND (B) of the pause settings (points 4) & 5)). Handling of the graphs what concerns moving, zooming, selection of a single point or a part of the graph with several points etc. is same as explained in the
graphs FAQ. All the points displayed along the graph can be edited. You very likely have to zoom in for an easier editing.
Additional features
a), b), c), d), e), f), g) are available, see details below.
Important: You may see your changes in course of your editing in this window, but saving/applying to the logbook, lists etc. will not happen until you have confirmed this window with MLC on "OK", so you still can cancel.
10) Standard editing: MLC a point or select a section of the graph. Then move mouse pointer over any selected point. The pointer will change into a double arrow. Now MLC and hold, then move up/down to wished position and drop. All points will be moved by the same amount and connected to both next nonselected, adjacent points.
11) Feature
a) Add time (and values) OR single value to the data track
MLC icon, a window "Add" will open. Now either choose to add an entire section or a single value to the data track with MLC. Enter your values in the available fields.
12) Adding a single value will connect the added value to adjacent values.
13) If you choose to add an entire section defined by time duration, you can place it wherever you want, append it at begin or end of the existing data track, or place it in between. Set values in the fields accordingly.
14) Feature
b) Remove one or more points from data track
Select a point or select a group of points by selecting a section of the graph., then MLC the "Remove"-icon. Points will be deleted. If single point, both nonselected, adjacent points will be connected. If a group of points, both selected boundary points will be connected.
15) Feature
c) Remove data outside a range of your choose
The radical cure, deletes ALL points of hole data track outside your defined range. Useful to get rid of unwanted spikes and the like.
MLC icon, a window will open. Select the type of range ("...above"/"...below") by checking/unchecking the boxes with MLC, then define the "cutoff" values, MLC "OK" to apply.
Note: pay attention when applying a "cutoff" of type "...below"; while it can wipe out unwanted "minimum" spikes, it might also remove hole sections (probably) in the begin/end of a data track. See picture, an entire section of approx. 2min at begin is removed.
16) Feature
d) Undo performed operation.
Note: this will undo ALL your previous editing steps and bring the data track back to its original shape as it was before you opened the "Edit Data Tracks" window.
17) Feature
e) &
f) Import/Export data track
Usually used for data tracks, where for example you have the GPS track (location), but your data track comes from a seperate device.
Note: the process of joining two or more data tracks very likely is also possible via the standard import process. This might be a much easier way than the procedure described below.
The import feature of SportTracks allows also to "update" an existing activity, this is the way to go. See this
FAQ entry for details.
Import and export will require/be "comma separated values" (*.csv). So for import prepare your files as such. Format first value time in seconds, second value unit of your data track, which must correspond to your unit choice in the settings of SportTracks. First line "Seconds;Value" MUST be included.
Note: You must know what you do here, you can easily mess up your data tracks as hole, for example in having different values types that should correspond, which however are not assigned to the same points of time.
18 ) MLC "Import" icon, in file browser change extension type if your data comes as *.txt or similar. Pick your file and confirm. Your imported data track will be displayed.
19) Feature
g) Change start time
Change start time by entering your time/date in the field "Start Time:" or MLC on the arrows to move forth/back the point of time. The field "Duration:" can not be edited. Details coming soon.
