Waypoints and Courses Plugin - Manual Route Creation

Waypoints and Courses Plugin - Manual Route Creation

Postby Squeege » Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:31 am

Hope this is the proper place to post this question. Have played around with the waypoints and courses plugin and it has great potential. Is there any plan to include manual course creation such as that found with bikeroutetoaster.com or mapmyride.com where you can click a start point then around the map you wish to ride? The autoroute is a good first step but would like to have the capability to modify the route as well.

Why should I have to build this, when it's already there?

Select view - Routes
Routes - Add route; select "New route"
Click "Add route" button
Edit the route as you like
Then click "Edit Create Course(s)" [oops, tiny bug: you must select another route and then back to let this menue entry appear]

Well don't I just feel silly! :P

Thanks! I'll play around with this. Nice to have an "all in one" solution within ST

Hell yeah!!!

I haven't fooled around with map exports yet but does it export official Garmin maps or only OpenStreetMap & the like?

It doesn't support official Garmin Maps. Maybe an option for the future - using SendMaps for upload.

Currently I support one flavor of OSM based maps
plus so-called "Custom Maps" (i.e. georeferenced bitmap files) that are currently supported by some non-fitness Garmin devices, e.g. the Oregon.
