Elevation correction using SRTM V4

Imorting a track and trying to correct the elevation of this track using the new SRTM V4 option I get elevation I didn't know giving them in the middle of Germany
Correcting the elevation I have at first to answer, whether I want to overwrite the data ("yes") and then I have to answer, whether I want to correct or to replace the data.
If I choose "no" (so that has to be the option for replace), I get elevations of 3000m near Bonn....

Manfred

Didn't the area around Bonn take measures agains flooding, recently? 8)

Seriously: I can reproduce that. Obviously it's a major glitch in the SRTM V4 data in this 5° by 5° tile. I tried it out with tracks around Munich, and the data are ok for that region.

I'm sorry to come again with this topic....
I have the problem always and not only for this region; elevation correction works only proper, if I deselect SRTM V4.... :?
Today I tried to correct the altitude for a track with the height of "0.00" for all points and the correction (with SRTM V3) starts after the first 11 km. :?:
Any suggestion??
Cheers,
Manfred

Sorry, I'm not sure if I understand - are you talking about TWO problems?
STRM V4 doesn't work at all, STRM 3" doesn't process the first 11 km?
Please clarify. And please zip and attach an exported FITLOG or GPX file of that activity (the one with the 1st 11km untouched).
