Way off with Garmin 620

Way off with Garmin 620

I'm regularly getting elevation gain of 150 ft/mile when I run near the beach. Today I ran about 14.5 miles. Raw uncorrected data from the watch says 1,539' elevation gain. The Elevation Correction Plug-in actually *increases* the elevation gain to 2,075 feet. Garmin Connect corrects it to 32 feet ... which is probably pretty close, except that it assumes I ran across the river without taking the bridges, which I know gives me another 90 feet of gain.

It was MUCH closer with my 310XT. Hoping for a new version with a little more accuracy with this watch ...

You need to find an acceptable smoothing for each different device.

See FAQ: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=5732&p=30732&hilit=Smoothing#p30732

Important as well is the flat zone setting, also explained in above thread.
