Request: Additional MAXPEAKTIME Parameters

Request: Additional MAXPEAKTIME Parameters

Postby bjcott » Sat Apr 09, 2011 4:41 am

Looking at this functionality ({MAXPEAKTIME(Power,HR,30)} ), would it be possible to add two new parameters to this class of functions to return the start and end time of the peak period?

Something like:
{MAXPEAKTIME(Power,StartTime,30)}
{MAXPEAKTIME(Power,EndTime,30)}

In long complex workouts, I would like to be able to confirm which exact times Calculated Fields has found for the maximum.

Thanks
Barry

I can add it in new build.

But just to warn users. There is a one "drawback"

I will probably return start and end time in absolute seconds from start of activity.
So if you will have some pauses in activity, because of stopped time for example. That this time will be in this time. So probably it can return sometimes weird results. (they will be correct in fact, but sometimes user await something different)

And of course if I will return not absolute time but relative, this way will be weird too for someone in some cases ;)

Or do we want to return relative time without pauses?

So it's ok?

Camel,

My preference would be relative without pauses as I want to line things up with the default pace/workout charts on the daily activity pages.

Hi,
it's now added in latest version of plugin. (1.2.9.4)

Syntax is simple:
{MINPEAKDISTANCE(Elapsed,StartTime,1000)}
{MINPEAKDISTANCE(Elapsed,EndTime,1000)}
To get times without pauses (relative time)

or

{MINPEAKDISTANCE(Elapsed,AbsStartTime,1000)}
{MINPEAKDISTANCE(Elapsed,AbsEndTime,1000)}
to get times with pauses (absolute values)

Enjoy and thanks for nice idea

Just a note for users. Of course time of peak could be slightly different in few seconds comparing to high score plugin for example. I'm using different algorithm to calculate results so we have different accuracy.
It's hard to say what is better, I haven't done complex testing. (I was seeing results only with minor difference in few seconds, so it's ok for me)

And accuracy of peak calculation is dependent on datatrack resolution you have set. 100miliseconds is better.

And than probably another differenceis that, I'm not considering peaks that contains pauses inside it. (peak with pause is cheating for me, or not a correct peak)
I think that this is different to high score plugin.

Nice day
Peter
