Note the addition of 1 second recording (without a Power Meter) as an option for both devices.

I'm disappointed not to see any fix for the disappearing course map bug on the 500. :( Hopefully, 2.80 will come up with the goods in the near future. Not sure if I'll bother with this 2.70 update, as none of the items in the change log are of interest to me at this time.

I have sent the following email to Garmin Support regarding some problems with v2.70 on the Edge 500:
I have noticed two issues with v2.70 which did not occur in prior firmware releases:

1. The Edge 500 no longer remembers the ANT+ id of my Heart Rate Strap. Instead it will synch with any close HRM, rather than the paired HRM.
See Garmin Forum Post https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.ph ... #post88669

2. The Edge 500 has twice not computed calories for my activities. All other recording has been correct (trackpoints, CAD, HRM, Speed, Distance, Power). This has never happened prior to v2.70.

Re: Edge 500 v2.80 Update

Many users of Edge 500 v2.70 found the inability to remember the HRM strap's ANT+ id an awful result, and most reverted back to 2.60.

It now seems that Garmin has posted a fix to the HRM problem as v2.80
Changes made from version 2.70 to 2.80:

* Fixed issue causing multiple heart rate monitors to be found.
* Fixed a speed display issue in history, speed zone setup, and workouts.
