Latest version is still old version

Postby racerfern » Mon Sep 15, 2008 10:29 pm

I downloaded the latest release and the release version still shows the older version of 0.1.3139. There is just one file in the zip so I expanded it to the YearView folder under plugins.

Suggestions please.

It seems that you have another dll version file in the root of \plugins folder. This location is preferred from ST loading plugin files. Just delete the file in \plugins and ST loads the new version from \plugins\Yearview.

Nope. I checked in the root plugins folder and there is not a copy there or for that matter anywhere else.

Searching the entire HD yielded only that one copy.

Now what?

The naming of plugins is very confusing and the Year View plugin highlights this.
The name in the Plugin Catalog is Activity YearView
The name I have for the latest plugin dll file is PluginYearView.dll
The name in ST Settings->Plugins->Installed plugins is BBBS Year View
The name in ST Settings->Plugins is BENBUN YearView
The name in ST Select view is Activity YearView
The name when the plugin is selected is BENBUN YearView

Did your search for the dll include the name PluginYearView.dll?

Some other plugins have similiar naming problems. Also the ST Settings->Plugins page does not seem to order the plugins alphabetically making installed plugins hard to find.

I solved it by moving the dll from the ...\plugins\yearview dir. to the plugins dir.

This plugin installation stuff gets weirder by the day. :(

Firstly, guilty as charged on the naming irregularities. I will try and fix this in the next release.

Secondly, if moving the plugin to the root of the plugin folder fixed the installation problem, then this means you must have an older version in one of the folders within the plugin directory. The ST log file should highlight this.

Regarding a future update:
Is it possible to hold the info window open as long as the mouse is in this area? The current time delay seems to be a bit short for a pensioner like me...

And average pace/speed would be also a very important value for every activity.

BTW, the system log showed no errors related to YearView. So go figure... Besides even if there were an error it would be like finding a needle in a haystack of OMB plugin errors.

When I click an activity from previous years, say in 07 and there is an activity in 08 on the same day the 08 activity is displayed until I move the mouse and then the correct activity is displayed.

Is this supposed to happen ?

Suggestion: Double Click on activity

Will it be possible in future update to let the Daily Activity open in say "Summary", Map or the last option that was open in Daily Activity?

Bug when viewing earlier years

Postby fishyweb » Wed Oct 15, 2008 3:01 pm

I'm looking at the yearview for an earlier year. When I click, say, 9/3/2005, I get a popup showing details for teh activity for 5/3/2008, and when I click 11/4/2004, I get details of 13/4/2008. If I then move my mouse to hover over the previous date, 10/4/2004 in this case, I then get the details for 11/4/2004!

Confirmed as a bug - fixed in the next release.
