import fails object reference

Postby glynd » Sat Aug 29, 2015 3:05 am

I am using a 310XT and has been importing via a .fit file without issues for years and now suddenly I get this error:
Object Reference is not set to an instance of an object.
I tried to import using the Garmin Communicator but it imports nothing and saying successful.
I installed the latest version 3.1.5716
I am running Windows 8.1 and nothing has been changed AFAIK, but security patches are automatically installed.
Any ideas please?

TIA

Attach the complete error message and maybe someone will be able to help.

Sometimes these things are caused by a plugin and one possibility is to disable plugins and see if it works and then enable a few at a time to see which is the offending one.

Thanks Staffann, A later file worked fine, so I think that the 2 corrupted ones suffered a transfer hiccup. I fixed them at the on-line site http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/. It ran perfectly and I have now imported the corrupted files.
Cheers
