Please be more accurate in your request.
CDT has a built-in formula for MaxHR etc

my end goal is to create a "custom field" which contains the MAX value of a certain "custom data track". because the only compuattion done on a "custom field" of a "custom track" is the average, but in my case I want the MAX value of the track.
So that's why I want a formula that could compute the MAX value of a certain track.
the built in CDT MAX value are only for well known tracks (HR, etc ...), not for any tracks.

When is a MAX value a MAX value?
We all know the problem of spikes in our data tracks.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15988

I think a MAX value is a MAX value when I was able to maintain this effort for xx seconds
Filtered Statistics is of valuable help when it comes to Pwr, Hr, etc
Unfortunately FS cannot help us with custom data tracks.

For this purpose I have once developed this formula
({DataPoint CDT}>XX?
1:
0)

XX is a MAXvalue which you would have liked to attain
You have to assign a value to XX yourself
Now you can easily read in the CDTchart when, and how long, you have exceeded your MAXvalue

For an example you may want to read
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=16337#p87332

PS; The latest version of CDTplugin also makes it possible to define your own zones
Click the zone with your MAXvalue. And you get a wealth of information.

PS; Of course you can also choose to export your datatrack to a spreadsheet, and do your math in the spreadsheet

Under "Calculation formula", "Add", "Activity" you get several functions for maximum values, including max cadence, max heart rate, max grade and max speed.

thanks all for the reply. but it doesn't help I'll just need to wait for a software upgrade in the future.
yeah the max value are only available for well known tracks (cadence, heartrate,...) but actually NOT for a custom track :(

Dear OMB,

Just to make it clear. is it really a case that I cant get the max value of a Custom Data Track? Eg If I want to get it by CalculatedFields plugin is there any formula to do that?

So far I could not figure out the syntax how to use a custom data track in MAXPEAKTIME{???????????,1}.
Cheers,
Zoltan

More information.

I have a Garmin IQ data field, Fat calorie burnt in g. Unfortunately even if it can be displayed as a custom data track, I cannot grasp its last value, which is by definition the max value, too. I would like to have a custom data field as the total fat calorie burnt, not as the average of it, which is certainly not half of it, because the averaging is time based) Otherwise I could simply multiply this average custom data field created by CDT plugin by 2.

How the heck I can get it, I thought. I started to play with Calculated Fields plugin, which I have been using both for simple and complex formulae, but I always relied on 'normal' data tracks. I tried to simply use the name of the custom data track of Fat Calorie burnt, and that with the CDT[XXXXX] syntax, also with Datapoint.CDT[XXXXXX] syntax, but failed.

Any hope for me?
Cheers,
Zoltan
