user error issues....

user error issues....

Postby montyforever » Wed Oct 03, 2012 9:09 am

Have downloaded the plug in and am using the up to date SportsTracks version. However, what I see is not what I believe I am supposed to see. Feeling dim for not understanding this but please advise.

firstly - how do I put a screen shot on the forum here???

* use "Upload attachment" below, or
* upload to one of approx. a million available file share servers on the web and post the link,
* ....

and, please, add a concise description what you think is wrong,
and - first of all - please use the forum search to see if someone has reported similar problems and if there's already an answer.

Apologies, to be a little clearer:

Although I label the activity as swimming at point of download and data IS downloaded, when I use the summary drop down box the swim options are not available.

My assumption is that once this is available and selected then I can start to woirk with the data? The particular session that I am looking at was swum in a 50m pool but I had mis set the watch to 25m. Even the, the distances showing (as if it were any other distance recording GPS unit) are not round 25m figs.

As mentioned, both SportTracks and plug in software are current versions. I am running Windows XP.

I was not able to print screen / paste into the forum page and 'upload' siad that both the Word and pdf. versions of the screen dump were not allowed??

Hopefully you have somehting to go on from the above?

Have checked forum, couldn't see anything similar.

You haven't yet shared the secret with us, which watch you are using.
If it's a Garmin, please add the .FIT file of your activity that you imported.
To add as an attachment, first ZIP the file then the forum sw will accept it.
Please don't add .doc or .docx screenshots, as these are proprietary Microsoft formats that not all users can read. Use PDF or image formats like png, gif, ... .

strugglng with the fit files and have already unsuccessfully tried to upload a pdf document. Will try again when not at work.

In the mean time: Garmin Swim is the culprit.

so, here's a screen shot - hopefully.

Can't find the .FIT files anywhere on the PC - where would these be tucked away, then? Have run a search against '.FIT'

Other than this, the only useful information i can give you is this:
Am using the Garmin Swim watch
SportTracks is current version
Plug In is current version
I also use the Edge 500 without problems
GarminConnect reads all of the data ok.

Garmin Swim Watch?
ST seems to have problems with this - I've just posted a solution for that:
